DC Metro Takes Flu Season Precautions

Washington D.C. – The DC Metro announced today that it is using an environmentally friendly disinfectant cleaner to wipe down surfaces on the Metro system to help eliminate the spread of H1N1.  Contact areas on the Metrobuses and Metrorail trains are being disinfected weekly.  More than 1 million riders use the system daily.

Riders are also being urged to take basic precautions including frequent hand washing and covering the mouth and nose when sneezing or coughing.  Many other precautions are being taken by the DC Metro.
